Bill DeArmond's Fishing Report
At the July Meeting, members celebrated the 15th Anniversary of Chapter 1028. Even after all these years, we still have 40 + members attending every month.
On August 16th The Chapter's Honors Team rendered the honors to veteran Stephen Flannery at the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Catawissa, MO.

We just had six of us show up for fishing at Tom's farm on the 20th. I brought along my son Dan but son David was reluctant to take off work that day as he has had illness and a motorcycle injury in his family recently. Jim Weible and son in law Jeff with his father Jerry Campbell came also. Tom Gates showed up just in time for lunch. He says he will come and fish next time. Hosting this year were Tom and his son Dan Becker.
Dan DeArmond and I fished the big lake. A mild cold front came through at 3 or 4 a.m. which really hurt the fishing. It was very spotty and we had to tease the crappie into biting. He and I caught 30 to 35. We took home a nice mess of fish as Dan Becker added a small bass and crappie to our take.
Jim and his two guests fished the lake and weren't doing very well. So Dan Becker suggested they go below the big lake to another acre and a half pond to fish. They came in around noon with a good haul of bass. Jim caught a very nice largemouth just under six pounds. His son in law Jeff caught another that was 4.1 pounds. So with what the three of them caught they took home a nice mess of fish too.
The weather was terrible after nine a.m. with a hot sun and it was humid too. But it was pleasant on Tom's covered dock where we had hot dogs and potato salad. My two sons and I are already looking forward to the Spring fishing trip out there. The weather will undoubtedly be more pleasant.
As always we are appreciative of the invitation. Thank you Tom and Dan Becker for having us out.
