At the December 2nd meeting representatives from the Missouri Veterans History Project presented information about recording veterans experiences on a DVD for posterity.

VVA Chapter 1028 Christmas Party

The Chapter held its third annual Christmas party on December 19th.  The event was held at the Genesis Banquet Center on Telegraph Road in South County.  Thanks to Gregg and Kathy Follmer and everyone else who helped organize the party.  The venue was comfortable, the food great.   A good time was had by  all.

Mary Ann Meyer of Delmar Gardens and Kelly Guenther of American Eagle Credit Union provided information about the upcoming Veterans Day Celebration at the Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley facility on November 11th.  Reservations are required to attend the breakfast.

On November 11th, members of Chapter 1028 attended a Veterans Day ceremony at the Delmar Gardens of Meramec Nursing Home.  The Chapter's Honor Guard presented the colors and conducted a flag retirement ceremony.  The event featured speakers from our Chapter.  Treasurer Tom Brophy gave the Missing Man Table  presentation.  Member Bill Groth representing the Sons of the American Revolution also spoke.

Vickie DiGregorio of USA Mortgage spoke to the Chapter on October 7th and provided information on mortgage discounts available to veterans

At the November 4th monthly meeting representatives from the Lutheran Senior Services spoke about the opportunities and services provided by the Christian organization for senior Veterans.

On November 14th the Chapter held a fundraiser at the Dierberg's store in Wildwood.  Thanks to all the members who volunteered their time.  As always we appreciate the cooperation of the store management for allowing us to use their facility.  The weather was great and the donations were generous.
